After Instalation Xp Remains Stuck At The Progress Bar.

Calling customer support has proven less than useful, so I though I would give this a try.

Installed Internet Security 2012 on a Windows XP (SP3, 1 GB, 1.6 GHz) netbook. This previously had Bitdefender 2011 installed and working.

Installation want without any problem, but the next time the system was booted XP stops at the progress indicator before allowing the user login. It does not actually stop as the three blue dots continue moving, but it does not progress beyond that (it will sit there for more then 24 hours).

Removed everything using the removal tool. Reinstalled with the same result.

Called customer support they suggested I install 2013 version. Removed 2012 (removal tool). Installed 2013 and got the same result.

Called customer support. They had me run the Support Tool. Sent them a log.

That was two week ago. Have called in several times and they confirm they got the support tool log, and they will get back to me soon. Soon has been two weeks.

Any actual information would be useful, otherwise it is probably time to find some other solution.

Thanks,

Customer Support did finally respond, and recommended attempting to use the repair option from "Repair or Uninstall."

This did not work. The system started the repair but got hung up during the reboot (at the XP progress bar and with the progress dots still moving).

    Thanks,
