Vista To Win 7 64 Bit

I need to move to 64 bit to get more RAM for processing. I currently have Vista 32 bit and am considering moving to Windows 7 64bit. Can anyone tell me what I Need to do and watch out for? Different BD software req'd? remove and re install? What???? Any help welcome
