Backdoor.rbot.bld Not Deleting

hey there!

i have bitdefender internet security 2008. i ran a deep system scan and it picked up Backdoor.Rbot.BLD I tried looking it up in bitdefender online database and didnt find anything. also it says it is in an archive and cant be be deleted. the path it gives is C:\System Volume Information\_restore{106CF321-99A3-4E3A-9103-1BD027606A99}\RP428\A0269002.exe=](CAB Sfx r)=]devenv.exe which is system file folder. i tried unhiding the folder and unchecking the hide system files from the folders options. but whenever i try to open the folder it says access is denied.

i really need someone to help me out, this thing is slowing me down.

  • Hi,

The file is in your restore volume where the restore points are saved.

    Try this:

    • Empty your restore volume to get rid of recreation of infection by windows recovery. To do that: go to start-control panel- system- system restore- check turn off system restore on all drives. Click apply. By doing this you loose all your (infected) restore points. Reboot and uncheck “turn off system restore on all drives' to create a clean.
    success!
  • thanks for the help Farbar!

    You are welcome hariss.

No the file doesn't come back, it is deleted now. Turn the system restore on, you may need it if something goes wrong in the future.
