  • Hi joho, and welcome :)

You can try downloading the full install version, and run it from the .exe file. If that doesn't resolve the issue for you, please post back :)

I tried again using the links you provided and I get the same message.

  • Hi joho,

Sorry to hear that suggestion didn't work. Even though this solution is for the 2012 version, go ahead and try it, just in case: http://www.bitdefender.com/site/support/Ho...-issue-886.html

Otherwise, Christian may need to get some follow up information from you, to get up up and running.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello :)

If you use the offline kit, please choose No when prompted to download the latest product update.

If you do this, you can not receive the same message because all the files are stored in the kit and there is nothing to download.

    Take care.

Will system recovery fix the problem? I'm sending all my files etc. to an external storage.

    Hello :)

Have you tried to right click on the installation file and from there to choose Run as administrator?

    Thank you!

Did not work either, I think the problem is with the installer as I was unable to install a different software, now how do I uninstall/repair/reinstall the installer program???

system restore option is getting closer (will this work?)

while my work piles up, I may have to borrow/buy another computer!!!!

    Thank you

  • Hello :)

Please go to Control Panel and uninstall everything in that list related to Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (2005, 2008, 2010, etc).

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows...hange-a-program

Now reboot, run CCleaner to clean up the registry:

    http://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/usin...gistry-cleaning

Now, install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2010 Service Pack 1 first:

    http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=30059

Download Bitdefender Uninstall tool from here, right click on it and choose Run as administrator.

    http://www.bitdefender.com/files/Knowledge...nstall_Tool.exe

Reboot again, download the installation kit and right click on it and choose Run as administrator.

Let me know if everything is OK.

    Have a great weekend!

  • Hello everyone :)

    @ joho

The issue is caused by the Windows installer that is corrupt on your system.

I recommend you to run System File Checker for corrupt files:

    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-...le-checker.html

and then try to reinstall it.

    Take care.
