Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 Prevents Other Programs Updating

Last week I removed McAfee Anti Virus Plus from my laptop (Win 7 SP1 64 bit) and installed Bitdefender Internet Security 2013. The installation was painless; only minor glitch, Pay Safe desktop shortcut was not automatically generated, so I created one myself. BIS 2013 worked flawlessly. But... refused to allow other programs to update. Downloads either never happened or were terminated part way, or files were corrupted in transit. Strangely, Dropbox and Windows update both worked OK. Sadly, I've gone back to McAfee. I'd much rather use Bitdefender as it offers superior features to McAfee, so if any one can come up with a solution to my problem I'll be most grateful.

With the product uninstalled, we can not troubleshoot this issue.

Also, I will need some names for those software so I can run some tests.

So, please, reinstall Bitdefender 2013 on that machine and follow the steps explained in the article below and send me via PM the generated log file:

Hi. Many thanks for your reply. I'm about to go on holiday so won't be able to reinstall BIS2013 for a week or so. In the meantime, the specific programs that wouldn't download/update are: Firefox, Thunderbird, Ashampoo Burning Studio 12.

I doubt that you are using the product in the Auto Pilot Mode. Kindly try the following settings

1) Enable User Mode

2) Enable Paranoid Mode

3) Disable Scan http or web traffic

4) Disable Privacy Control options

5) Set IDS to Normal
