Thank you mrpolimero for following up with your research last night to confirm the hotfix (temporary?) solution. You have put allot of effort in this thread, and the other one you started here, it is appreciated :)

My question for Adriana now is this. For those of us who may not be downloading allot of files, should we also apply the hotfix just to be sure of the integrity of our file downloads? (I think will, just to be sure). Also, when Bitdefender comes up with a patch for this issue in an update/build, would this hotfix have to be uninstalled to allow for your patch?

    Thank you.

IMHO anyone with W7, BD and patch 2735855 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34637) must install the Microsoft Hotfix.

  • Too bad the patch isn't available for Windows 8 x64 where I have this problem. Any solutions?

    Hello,

at least on my test (and on the hotfix information say the same) this issue is not affecting W8.

  • well, I have the problem on Win8 x64 and it immediately goes away after uninstalling Bitdefender...

    That sounds bad....

You will have to search on Microsoft KB to see if they have a similar patch for that problem on W8

  • According to Microsoft, this hotfix will also be available for Windows 8 in about two months....

    LOL

    Fast!

    Where did you read that??

    Thanks

  • Just a heads up..

The recently released hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2735855 has been confirmed to cause data corruption during the download when a 3rd party driver working at Windows Filtering Platform layer intervenes in the communication.

The patch seems to work on my side, going to test it on 2 of my other systems tomorrow.
