Initial Experience With Bd Total 2008
I used BD 2007 and now am trying BD Total 2008. So far, I like the new user interface and tasks appear to be accomplished quicker. However, after only 4 days into the trial version, I have noticed several unusual occurences: Outlook Express all of a sudden being inaccessible...(fix is a reboot). Also, when I shut down, the system won't shut down completely. (Due to frequent electrical storms, we shut down and unplug our little home computer). We run XP Media Center SP2 about 1 1/2 year old.
I've read through some of the posts and from what I can gather, the automatic updates may be causing a few problems. I will turn that off. I have been impressed with BD's apparent commitment to listening to customers' needs as shown in Total 2008 so I will hang in with these little glitches that are popping up and hopefully they will be resolved during the year.
Lastly - just curious - over the past 10 years, we had absolutely NO viruses, etc. ever attempt to get through to us. We've used Norton, McAfee, and last year tried Bit Defender. We are always "0" files infected. I'm hopeful that this is due to the fact that BD is constantly on guard and stops them before they get to us. Naturally, when we scan, it shows that we have a perfectly clean system. ?
