Hi All
I am trying to use a HSBC Smart Trade Application in order to view share-market information, log into my trading account, buy/sell shares etc.
I have found that Bitdefender 2013 Internet Security is the culprit in blocking the communication from the java application when trying to log into the hsbc servers. I have uninstalled the product and then the application works fine. However I reinstalled, tried to use the app and it doesnt work. It launches the application, then When i try to log in using my username/password/account number, it fails to authenticate. It does not even reach the authentication servers. It returns with a message saying server not responding. However, I have tried using an incorrect password - normally it returns saying password is incorrect. However here it returns with same message - server not responding. This makes me believe that once I hit the login button on the application, it tries to communicate with HSBC Invest Direct Servers however Bit defender is blocking the communication - either from hsbc or to hsbc.
I have tried changing all firewall/adapter/general settings. Nothing works other than uninstalling the product.
FURTHER NOTE - STEALTH MODE = OFF, NETWORK = TRUSTED, GENERIC = YES.
FIREWALL LOG SHOWS THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE EACH TIME THE APPILCATION FAILS WITH THE ABOVE MESSAGE - "BdprIoSendToLocal failed with error code c0000225"
any help is appreciated.
thanks
