Windows 8 X64 Bitdefender Total Security 2013 Ftp Problem

Hello,

I noticed a problem after i installed Bitdefender Total Security 2013. When i try to update or create a file with some FTP program (like PSPad, FileZilla, Aptana 3 Studio etc.) the Bitdefender firewall is blocking something. I created some rules, I have added those programs to trusted list so they are allowed for everything but it's still not working.

Also i can't explore network not in my IP range (my bitdefender have ip in 192.168.1.X and i can't explore files on computer in 192.168.0.X network - of course with Bitdefender Firewall Off everything's fine)

I'm using Autopilot Mode

FIrewall settings:

General Rules = Allow all options (FTP,HTTP etc.)

Added all programs with Allow everything rule

Adapter rules = added 192.168.0.1 and now i can explore whole 192.168.0.X network , so this problem is solved

I don't know what more settings i should paste here.

Hi Rednada and welcome!

A product update was recently released. Your build should be 16.27.0.1763 (please right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).

In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine(you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).

Hi,

I seem to be having the same issue with FTP - for me it results in uploads showing as not completing unless BitDefender is disabled.

When i check my version it shows 16.26.0.1739 which i presume is older that the update mentioned below. I've run update and none get listed/applied

Hi,

If you have BD Win 8 Security this is the latest version (16.26.0.1739).

For your issue, if you try to upload to a PC in your local network go to Settings/Firewall/Adapter rules -> Add zone and "Allow" its IP.

For FTP sites an "Allow" rule for your FTP app, usually, is enough. Go to Settings/Firewall/Application rules and see if there is already a rule for it. If so, delete it, turn ON "Paranoid mode", open your FTP app and you'll be prompted for permission or turn OFF "Paranoid mode", open your FTP app and "Allow" rules will be created automatically.

If your issue still persists you have to contact to BD support.
