Bitdefender Destabilized My System

So I have decided to try out a newest free version of Bitdefender on my Windows 7 x64.

Downloaded Antivirus_Free_Edition_x64.exe from your website, and installed on my W7, it didn't ask for system restart so I kept using my windows. It was all fine at this point, everything worked fine, I could do a file scan etc.... Next day I had to restart my system, after boot up, everything worked fine for a minute, untill I decided to launch a random application, then the problems started. My mouse pointer has begun to lag and move so slowly that I couldnt controll it at all because reaction to what I did was 20 secs later, also pressing mouse buttons didnt do anything. Tried to launch taskmanager to see whats going on on processes and cpu but CTRL+ALT+DEL didnt do anything either, so I kept spamming it and it launched 2mins later, however I havent seen anything suspicious there, no cpu overload, no strange processes, no nothing. It was like that for 5-10mins untill my PC totally frozen, and only hard-reset helped. I could boot up my windows several times, and it always ended like that no matter what application I tried to run. Moreover whenever I placed my mouse pointer in a bottom desktop area it started to lag and move in slow motiontion and it's buttons didnt react. There was also one time when I saw Bitdefender icon was innactive, and when I put mouse over it, there was a notification about innactivity, also it's icon changed to different colors (reverse?).

So finaly decided to uninstall your antivirus app, and everything started to work flawlessly again. What happened?

  • Hello Sadman,

    Sorry for the late answer.

You have mentioned a random application, can you tell me more info?

Can you also send some logs:

    - all files like "number".bdinstall.bin located in ProgramData

You can send them via http://www.sendspace.com or http://www.mediafire.com and after send me the link or more simply via PM.

    Thanks.

  • We will analyze the logs that you have sent us and come back with an answer.

    Hello,

I don't have them anymore since I uninstalled the product. I will try to install it again, use a bit and see what happens, then send you new logs.
