Hi Firecapt, good to see you and that avatar that always makes me chuckle and smile
According to this, yes: http://www.bitdefender.com/news/top-protec...ction-2583.html0 -
Or, are you asking because of this exploit, which BD may have missed? (Gini on the Romanian forum)
Also, this link of Oracle patches: http://www.zdnet.com/oracle-patches-multip...ity-7000009736/0 -
Columbo,
Thanks for the replies ! Seems BD does protect against problems with Java. Lots of concern about Java since the Department of Homeland Security issued a warning about it.0 -
Here is a link from Oracle

I don't think Java will ever be secure. It's almost not worth the trouble anymore. If OpenOffice (and LibreOffice) database didn't require it, it would be long gone. I also have it disabled for browsers.
Please read the last paragraph here regarding Internet Explorer (with java disabled). -> hxxp://www.majorgeeks.com/story.php?id=37214
Good question Firecapt and thanks for the info Columbo. I'm glad BD is on top of it.0 -

Firecapt, to be honest, I had forgotten about Java, as FF asks to disable Java for security reasons, so it was off my mind until you stared this thread, and what timing you had, especially with the latest exploit and all. I too, apreciate this reminder thread.

Remove Java. No real need for it. Junk that the bad people love.

Bitdefender has no settings for such detections, detection are made silently, I think.

I think I'll go along with Nesivos and just turn Java off for now! It would be nice to have some of the additional content that it allows one to see but not at the cost of having my computer taken over, loss of personal info, or worse.
