Bis 2013 + Windows Defender + Zemana Antilogger Realtime

Hello all,

My Operating System is Windows 8 Pro (64-bit) 4GB RAM.

And currently having Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 in realtime protection. But I also wanted to add another antivirus which can run alongside with bitdefender internet security 2013.

So as my OS is genuine I wanted to run Windows Defender in realtime along with BIS 2013 and also Zemana AntiLogger in realtime protection.

So please guide me on how to set the exclusions for these 3 program's processes so that there should not be any conflict or lagg in my system and it should run smoothly with all 3 i.e Bitdefender Internet Security 2013, Windows Defender latest and Zemana AntiLogger in realtime protection.

And also advice if this combo is very strong and if it wouldn't cause any type of harm to my system.

Actually you cannot run 2 antivirus in same operating system it will either create duplicate security or severely slow down your machine make it unusable.

Bitdefandar while installing will tell you incompatible programs in your computer.

Regarding windows defander you can keep it in your pc by disabling real time protection only for scanning purpose if your machine shows any sluggishness. Actually my advice if you have bitdefender total security or internet security software installed no such above mentioned software needed.

Hello whizkidraj,

It's strictly recommended to have only one AV/Firewall solution.

Otherwise, you'll be probably forced to reinstall your system after its death or you'll never have sufficient security cause one product will act against the other.

That's why, on BDIS installation, Windows Defender and Windows Firewall are turned automatically off.

webroot also an antivirus with real time protection so you cannot keep it. No real time antivirus you can keep , except some only ad ware or spyware programs, which don't have real time protection but has scanner only.

You are getting some good advice, so I will only comment on your post. You are right in that regard concerning Webroot in and of itself, which can have another AV run along side of it due to the fact that it is pretty much all cloud based, and thus not allot running processes on your system itself to conflict with the other AVs. Bitdefender is more of the full install and running package, with more on board processes that can conflict with another real time AV.

For a second opinion, you can use Malwarebytes free version (and not the real time Pro version), or use one of the "non install" type of online scanner, disabling Bitdefender's real time scanner during a scan by going to Settings/Antivirus/On-access scanning. It is against forum policy to compare or post links by members of other security solutions here, (yet your ok, as you were posting with good questions), so if you need a direction in that regard, you can PM me.

ok so If I cannot use webroot 100% along with bitdefender internet security 2013 then no need of asking more about it. Np thats fine I'll just use Bitdefender Internet security 2013 and keep my windows and softwares updated and perform manual scans with hitman pro & malwarebytes weekly and with kaspersky tdsskiller monthly and I should be fine right.

If any-other thing I can add to this then please do comment.

And I almost forgot to ask about zemana anti-logger hehe. So can I use it in real-time with BIS 2013 as I've license of it and its one of the best anti-logger software so I don't want to miss out on using it.

I saw that in your thread description, and in your above post. I am not familiar with Zemana anti-logger and it's running background processes, and possible conflicts with Bitdefender. Maybe someone else here has more, or at least some experience with it to help you in that regard.

Ok now I know and also read that I can only use BitDefender Internet Security 2013 and cannot use other companion antiviruses like Webroot with it, so np about that.

Now please have a look at these settings of mine i.e

BitDefender Internet Security 2013 with Zemana AntiLogger both realtime protection ON

and see if they are fine -

I searched if zemana anti-logger is compatible with BitDefender in realtime protection and got the answer easily here -

So now using BitDefender Internet Security 2013 + Zemana AntiLogger both realtime protection with the above settings done.

And a FINAL Task Manager view to see if there's no much consumption of memory (Do comment on this if it looks fine or if a bit heavy on resources) -

I think everything's fine now. No more heavy RAM usage or anything wrong in settings and exclusions. Right ?

Thanks for the images of your settings. I would have you to consider setting your IDS to at least Normal, if not Permissive or Off, as setting it on High may give you issues down the road, especially with 2 keyloggers now being in play.

Thanks columbo . IDS set to Normal and read the thread links u gave and thank you very much for that and the free tip hehe . Also I wanted to help bitDefender be the most best antivirus at detecting malwares and I know many of the sites that contains links of malwares and are daily updated with different types of nasty malwares, so please someone guide me where to report those malware sites and I know plenty of them. They are used by many of the antivirus reviewers on youtube also. So I wanted bitdefender to catch all of them and always be updated with zero day malwares. So that BitDefender would again keep on getting more awards than 2012 & no other antivirus or security suite could match its detection, protection and removal rates. Please any staff member reply or columbo u guide me wht to do.

I'm also using Bitdefender Total Security 2013 together with Zemana Antilogger already for a few months on my Windows 8, 64 bits computer, and it doesn't seem to slow down my system.

Sometimes I'm running Hitman Pro as a double check.

I have an Intel i7 Q720 CPU at 1.60 GHz and 8 GB RAM, with an SSD drive.
