Update Problem

When I update IS 2008 the engine version and the virus definitions are updated, but everything else will not be updated. Modules like: vsserv.exe, uiscan.exe, scan.dll and al others remain the same. I have downloaded the last version of Bitdefender IS 2008 before that my version of bitdefender was 11.0.13. After all updates the build number stays the same. On the bitdefender forum I have seen that some modules versions are updated but not for me. I have tried everything from uninstalling BD with the uninstall tool, cleaning the registry with ccleaner and jv16. Tried a clean install of Vista Ultimate even cleaned some inf files created by BD. On my second computer everything was the same (XP SP2, full update, second try with clean install of XP SP2 without update),still same results. At this moment bitdefender has run autoupdate and again no difference. Sorry for my bad english!

Dear sale,

You must know that product version can differ from language version to language version. Only certain language version are upgraded to 11.0.16. This is for sure for the English,Romanian version. If you downloaded the latest build from the BitDefender website you may be sure that you have the latest build. Because you didn't saw any update errors in the logbook of BitDefender.

I have the English version but on the about window it still says 11.0.15. Why? And all my modules are old. For a month now Bitdefender has not ask me to restart the system because he don’t download modules like: uiscan.exe, vsserv.exe, scan.dll… As an example my vsserv.exe has build number 11.0.0.338 and the build date is November 16. Niels I hope you understand what I try to say. Thanks for your help!

Dear sale,

Upgrades aren't released each month they are mostly released to fix problems and update program parts. It could be that some version numbers may different from these in the sticky where you can check the version because the version that is used is the Romanian version. So that might explain the difference of your build. The best thing is contacting live support tomorrow.

I can install the 11.0.13 English version and after bitdefender made his update nothing happens. Build number stays the same. And the modules are still as before. And no restart required.
