Avc3.sys

Hi,

I was half way installing BitDefender Internet Security 2013 into my Windows 8-64, the system halted and when I rebooted it, my PC needs to be repaired because one of the critical driver file is missing or contain error.

File:\windows\system32\DRIVERS\avc3.sys

Error corde: 0xc000007b

Is this related to the installation? I have yet to fix the driver file.

If anyone encounter the same issue please share with me your solution.

Hi neu,

avc3.sys is Bitdefender's driver for Active Virus Control. You can actually see this feature in the Bitdefender product if you go to Settings > Antivirus > Shield tab.

Hi neulwy, how did this work out for you? I think the installer that you used is incomptable. Can you make sure that you are using the one for Windows 8 and it says 64bit?
