Problem With Roxio Videowave

Preamble: I'm migrating from Vipre because we're not joining the herd abandoning their desktops so I'm looking for something comparable to Vipre with friendlier licensing costs for multiple PCs. Thought Option A would be Bitdefender until I ran into compatibility issues with Roxio Videowave.
Problem: Videowave startup error regarding corrupted production file which does *not* prevent the program from executing; however, when you exit Videowave, the program automatically restarts itself until/unless you kill the process. OS: Windows 7.
Source: No prior problem with Videowave; no prior problem with Videowave + Vipre. Problem is not mitigated or eliminated when you turn off Virus Shield or Autoscan; problem can only be eliminated by uninstalling Bitdefender. No BD settings to tweak or modify.
Note: Problem did *not* appear immediately after initial BD installation. Problem also does not "immediately* reappear if you {a} uninstall Bitdefender; {b} clean registry (with option to remove pointers to missing files, find/remove all refs to BD) {c}reinstall Bitdefender. Have not tested BD with other video rendering programs, i.e., Ulead etc.
Currently evaluating Avast. Would like to revisit Bitdefender if/once problem (memory/mapping issue?) is resolved.
