Install Problem
Bitdefender internet security 2013 installs ok..then the fun begins.
I removed NIS 2013 using the built in uninstaller.
Re-boot and run the BD installer.
It downloads the program, installs ok.
Run BD update and that worked.
After update it wants to restart.
When the computer restarts the network notification icon has the blue circle in it.
No other program will run.
Ctl/alt/del has no effect.
Try to open the control panel or open network settings, nothing happens.
The only app that will run is BD and it reports that it is working fine.
I uninstalled all the custom dell software apps.
Along with intel security & mgmt apps.
Made sure the trusted computing module etc. is disabled in the bios.
Now what?
PC:
Dell precision M6600 laptop.
Windows 7 x64
ATI rage pro video
SSD and HDD, windows is on the SSD.
Intel proset V11.6 network drivers.
Intel Wi-Fi drivers (dont remember what version)

I downloaded the uninstaller from Norton and ran it.
No change, still has problems with BD on the laptop.
If I could just get into task manager I could find out what is hogging all the CPU cycles and go from there.
In safe mode BD does not run so I can not troubleshoot with that approach.0 -
What about some entries at the system registry? That's common today with security softwares. You can probably use free programs like Ccleaner.
