Bit Defender Windows 8

I use bit defender total security 2013 for my windows 8 laptop , i just know that bit defender has launched antivirus for windows 8 , my question is , what is the different between BD total 2013 and BD windows 8 ? , what is the best for my windows 8 ? , i use BD total and it slow downs the startup and shutdown , i thinks i want to move to BD windows 8 , i need help from you guys , thank you .

I use Bitdefender Internet Security on my Acer V5 Win8 laptop, and have had no problems so far after one moth of using it. I have also tried Win8 security on the same machine, and had some problems with the bandwidth. There are ways to fix that, but with BIS 13, I dont have the problem.

I can't suggest which antivirus is best for W8. I have W7 installed on my pc. I think that Bitdefender should open a sub-forum regarding W8.

To my knowledge the differences between the two products are:

1. BD TS 2013 "Tune Up" module is not in BD W8 Security.

2. BD W8 Security is ELAM compatible which is part of W8. BD TS 2013 is not ELAM compatible however I understand BD TS 2014 will be. Microsoft suggests W8 computers use only AV software that is ELAM compatible.

I would maybe wait to see what the 2014 versions bring, before making any changes. Even if you downgraded to the BD W8 Security, it may not solve your Firewall issue: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...c=46008&hl=

Also, it would take contacting Support (below in my siggy) to downgrade to the BD W8 version, as it is the same module wise as the 2013 Internet Security, so you would be losing these features from your Total Security: http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/antiv...comparison.html

Again, maybe wait a bit to see what the new 2014 versions offer, also waiting for the possible public release glitches to get worked out, and see if you can get your Firewall issue resolved by calling, or "chatting" with support. (unless your Firewall thread here gets resolved shortly)

are all offered as part of BD W8 Security.

Having said that I would not change to BD W8 Security unless I was having problems with BD TS 2013. If however, BD TS 2014 does not include the ELAM feature I would switch. That is why I got BD W8 Security in the first place. I have had no problems with it on three W8-Pro x64 computers.
