Hello mody5700,
Welcome to the Bitdefender forums.
Please indicate the test file you used - if it's available online. We will need a download link for it. Otherwise, we need a sample of that file for the lab analysis. Protect the archive with the password "infected" and upload it on a file server such as http://www.sendspace.com or http://www.mediafire.com. Then post back the download link.
We also need to know the build version currently used. Right click on the Bitdefender icon from system tray > About > Product Information > Build
Also, tell me on what level is IDS set on your PC: aggressive, normal or permissive?
Thank you, looking forward to your response.

There is a website that is known for testing firewalls, though many claim it is really a HIPS test and a firewall without a HIPS component won't do very well.
In 2012 it tested BD Total Seccurity 32 bit and it received an excellent score of 97%
Recently the site switched exclusively to a 64 bit platform. It tested BD IS 2013 64 bit v. 16.30.0.1843 and the results were very bad, to say the least.
(Note -- Many other very highly regarded security suites also did very badly on the test, undoubtedly cuz their firewall does not include a HIPS component.)
Did the anti malware components of BD IS catch the malware?
Accorcing to Shields Up! BD's firewall totally stealths all service ports so I am wondering whether this is a real problem?
