Application Rules

Well i had bitdefender running in auto mode and recently put it on manual.

As the default settings offer very little scanning and protection.

And in the Firewall- Application Rules there is about 50 rules that are allowed and i have no idea what half of them are so can i reset them and allow them one at a time and then i will know what all the rules are?

Will my PC stop working if i reset the rules?

Also i was looking through the firewall log and it said it let some malware i had accsess to a port.

That maybe because i had it set on auto pilot for ages i got the malware.

So i think i got rid of all the malware now and want to do what i can to stop getting any more in the future.

Thanks rupert.

  • Hi rupert,

    Welcome to the Bitdefender forums.

    You can easily and safely reset all the Firewall rules this way:

    1. Open the Bitdefender interface;

    2. Click on 'Settings' and then select 'Firewall';

    3. In the new window that will appear, select 'Application rules'. Please click on 'Reset rules', confirm with 'Yes' then click on 'Close';

    As the new Bitdefender was released, I also recommend you to upgrade for free to the latest version by following the steps described in this topic:

    From now on, post in this area of the forum in case you encounter further issues after the upgrade:
