Registration

First time on the forum!


I have been running BDIS 2013 successfully and saw that I could upgrade to 2014 version.


This all went smoothly and accepted my key for 2013 version when I entered it.


However, in dashboard when I try to enter this key in Product Registration it says "failed this key has been used before" Well of course it has in the 2013 version!


The program is running just fine, will it make any difference at some point in the future that this key has not been accepted?

    Hi, you don't need to enter the key there. I did the same thing when I first installed Bitdefender. That button is for remotely sending the key to the computer itself from another machine (handy if you install a trial for a relative and then need to register it after purchase remotely), not registering with Bitdefender. When you run the 2014 build on the computer, it will update the dashboard in time when a connection is established between the upgraded computer and Bitdefender's cloud servers.

    @ Col: Glad you're up and running on your PC. Thanks for posting back with your results :)


    The actual error message that comes up is this one:


    The license key you have entered is currently used in this product. You cannot register the product twice with the same key

    This is normal. As antikythera already explained above, your previous license key is recognized during the installation process skipping the registration step - this is possible if you have used a previous Bitdefender version and the license key is still valid.


    In this case, when opening Bitdefender, you should see on the bottom the amount of days until expiration. You can also click on that link in order to see your license key in the "Current license information" field.


    It means that your product is already registered and you have nothing to worry about, you do not have to use the key one more time for registering it
