Cannot Log On After Installing Bitdefender Free
I installed Bitdefender Free on my mother in law's pc for her (as AVG would not stop sending her sales messages).
But now, as an immediate consequence, she cannot get into her computer at all. Previously on switching on, the computer fully loaded with no intermediate step. Now, it brings up a user log on screen with just the one user "Wendy" which is indeed her user name. But clicking "Wendy" gets a few moments later the error message "The user service profile failed the log on".
I'm going to see her tomorrow to try to fix it.
If I can't get in to the pc at all, what can I do ?
If I can get in via safe mode at boot up, should I just uninstall Bitdefender ? Or will that not solve the problem ?
Or what else can I do instead ?
I found this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215 and, if safe mode gets me in, would be willing to try solutions 2 or 3. But is this the answer ?
