Firewall Question

I have bitdefender security whitch I tested with Shield up. The result found that TruStealth had failed. Is that bad ? Here is the result..


GRC Port Authority Report created on UTC: 2008-03-24 at 15:14:24 Results from scan of ports: 0, 21-23, 25, 79, 80, 110, 113, 119, 135, 139, 143, 389, 443, 445, 1002, 1024-1030, 1720, 5000 0 Ports Open 1 Ports Closed 25 Ports Stealth 26 Ports Tested NO PORTS were found to be OPEN. The port found to be CLOSED was: 113 Other than what is listed above, all ports are STEALTH.


TruStealth: FAILED - NOT all tested ports were STEALTH, - NO unsolicited packets were received, - A PING REPLY (ICMP Echo) WAS RECEIVED.

    Try to enable the Stealth Mode:


    Firewall -> Advanced -> Stealth Mode


    This should stealth all ports and block ICMP packets. If after you enable this option, you still fail the test, then it means that you are connected to a router/server, and the test is not testing your computer, but it's testing the router/server. About that, BitDefender cannot do anything.

  • Thank you very much Cris. It is maybe because I have a router. I tested with the bitdefender firewall and without it and it give me the same result.I wonder if bitdefender firewall help at all?
