Re Installing Bitdefender Total Sercurity After Reinstalling O.s
I have to reinstall my O.S (Win7) as I have annoying ads (mostly "search deals", "luxury casino" and others, and being taken constantly to other websites - "friends checker com": can bitdefender not do anything to remove them?). I've tried everything to get rid of them; reset browers, uninstall any programme I'm not sure about, virus scan, ran malwarebytes and more - but still they are there - so I am left with only reinstalling the O.S.
I have Bitdefender Total securtity 20013 (I've just renewed the subscription)
I have a licence for 3 p.c's and have it on 3 p.c's
I have to reinstall the O.S on my main p.c
My O.S is Win7 (64bit)
I have read instructions on reinstalling Bitdefender on the same p.c - but nothing about what to do if the O.S is reinstalled on that H.D
What do I have to do (or can I?), resinstall Bitdefender total security on the same H.D after reinstalling the O.S (I don't have the option of having a "spare" licence as I've already registered it on 3 machines - including the one I am reinstalling the O.S on.
The answer is maybe simple, but I wanted to ask as I can not find the answer to this specific problem anywhere -and I didn't want to go ahead without getting advice first.
Many thanks

You can re-install on the same HDD after formatting the drive and installing fresh OS (even a new OS i.e. win 7 to win 8 fresh install) without going over your license allocation of machines. The activation server is intelligent enough to recognise it as a reinstall on the same machine.
Make sure though before you do, if you have registered the machine with my.bitdefender.com to remove it as a device. Otherwise you will end up with a duplicate entry for it on your dashboard (not linked to the activation server count).0 -

Many thanks for the reply. I was pretty sure that Bitdefender was smart enough to recognise the machine - but it was bits like being sure the unregister it as a device on the dashboar that woulnd't have been aware off
Well I'll give it a go and keep my fingers crossed!
Many thanks again
