Bitdefender Serious Failure In Service

I use BitDefender on my XP machine and all works reasonably well.

I am very disappointed that this is certainly not the case with windows vista.

Upon attempting to install the free version of the antivirus I ended up with the 30 day trial software due to confusing and sloppy web design. I realised this and tried to install the free version but received errors and problems. I then uninstalled the trial version and was finally able to install the free version.

Upon installing I received nothing but problems. Namely the trial version still lingering around after uninstalling. bdfdll.sys compatibility issues error and to top it all, full system crashes when trying to execute a rootkit scan. This could potentially lead to data loss and serious hardware complications.

Not only this but having to change keys and settings after a certain period is not something I expected from a product which is advertised as "FREE". If it’s free make it free not limited by time limits and pointless key changing.

After all these problems I seriously question the security these programs offer me. If these systems malfunction under normal conditions how will they behave when under attack? When experiencing problems with other anti malware applications I ponder the professionalism, dedication, advancements of resolving these problems, and overall system protection being offered towards the users of these products.

I fully appreciate many find this highly rated and praised software to be superb in handling their system security but after confusing websites, error messages, system failures and a headache I can assure you there are others not so pleased.
