Hi All.
Apologies if this is the incorrect forum to post in. I have downlaoded the 30 day trial of BitDefender Internet security 2008, with the intent to purchase it, if I can sort this little issue.
My current setup is Vista Home Premium Laptop with Bitdefender installed, connected to a wireless network, have a secondary XP machine configured with Norton Client security also connected wirelessly.
From the Vista machine I can ping the XP machine (192.168.1.103) and if i try to connect to it (\\192.168.1.103) I can connect to it fine, I can browse all the available shares and access files. The XP machine does not show on the Network Places though??. But from the XP machine, I cannot ping the Vista machine, and therefore cannot connect to it. But The Vista machine shows on the XP's Network Places. When I connect it mentions access rights. (Both machines logged on as Admin)
I have allowed 192.168.1.103 as a trusted machine from the BItDefender Firewall, and from the XP machine I have allowed the vista machine (192.168.1.3) access to it from Norton.
In the Vista network settings the machine is discoverable.
Is there anything that I am not doing in regards to the BitDefender Firewwall setup?
I believe this must be down to configuration of BitDefender, because I cannot connect Vista to XP.
Many Thanks for your help.
