Change Update Frequency

Can someone tell me how to change the frequency of updates BD 2014?

I watch streaming video and I have found that every 15 minutes when BD checks for updates the video stutters or freezes. I'd like to change it to check at 3 hour intervals.

I have tried to change the settings as detailed from here http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=45235

The problem is when i try to change the settings i am unable.

I have started in safe mode and carried out the instructions. I can highlight the values but am unable to change them using the numbers on my keyboard.

I do not get any sort of warning message.

I am using windows 7.

Just checked on mine, after safe mode and finding the update_settings.xml file click it to highlight, rt. click and open with notebook.

I could set the cursor after the 60 and delete it, then added a new figure.

File>save and it was done.

I set mine to 3 hour intervals. It's just checked for updates.

So BD updates every 15mins?

yea i would like to adjust that also.

That's really bad. It shouldn't be every 15 minutes. Aren't updates available once a month if I'm not mistaken?

Virus updates are checked for every 15 minutes, product updates every hour. Seems reasonable to me.

Why the heck do you want them once a month? I guess that is OK if you want to be well out of date.

I like every 15mins it don't slow my computer down at all,it checks but doesn't mean it DL all the time once a month would be crazy.

i want to make sure I'm always updated.
