Delete / Disinfect Failed, Object Failed To Be Moved To Quarantine

I'm not sure I'm in the right forum, but I find none that seems more appropriate. I use the Bitdefender Virus Scanner (Version 2.21 (2.21.4959)) on a mac running OS X 10.9.1. Upon an entire system scan, the application reports trojans and exploits, and as „Action taken" : Delete failed; Disinfect failed, Object failed to be moved to quarantine. Assigning read & write priviledes to everyone, staff, system doesn't seem to change that.

In fact, all of these pieces of malware are sited in four or five large files (like INBOX, mbox, trash). I imagine that BVS can't just change some bits within a larger single file, nor put a large and possibly essential file into quarantine. Is that the reason? And if it is, should I use a different application? Or what else would solve this problem?

I cannot offer any help with this but I believe (I am not sure!) your concern should go under Other BitDefender products and services. I had problems with misleading or contradicting logs form Bitdefender Free Edition, however, it works properly and keeps me safe. Please Contact Customer Care if you think you should.
