I'm trying to uninstall and I'm asked to allow PcSfTool.exe through the firewall. I don't and the uninstall ends up in a loop. I searched that file can't find reference to is as belonging to Bitdefender.
Thanks,
Cane

There is a link to the uninstall tool for Bitdefender in a post pinned at the top of this forum. It has to work properly
Notes:
1. I have not uninstalled my Bitdefender Free Edition nor have plans to do so.
2. I searched but did not find any file named PcSfTool.exe in my computer; I have no idea what it may be...

If you are using the uninstall tool as linked by Christian at the top of the forum it will be safe to allow PcSfTool.exe through to do its job.

Exactly the same is happening to me: this uninstall tool seems to be looping indefinitely. Can somebody please explain to me how I am supposed to get rid of this behavior + bitdefender ? Is this file working or isn't it ? What is happening ?
Yes, allow it through the firewall. See if this helps: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=212332
I found pcsftool.exe twice in the Windows Defender, also twice checked. Do I uncheck these or leave it like it is ? I am not really clear on this.
Dutch-language version, BTW.
You could also use REVOUNINSTALLER to uninstall it. Great free program that does a real thorough job of eliminating all traces of any program.
I recently used Revouninstaller to uninstall Avast free AV. I was amazed how much Avast left over traces it found and eliminated.
