Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition Free Version Settings

My current laptop is running windows 8 along with Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition Free version. Unfortunately spotify isn't working, I have re-installed it, and tried to open it but it wont open. When I checked the Event Viewer it said:

This question was posted on the Spotify forum, and they said the problem was that Bitdefender blocked Spotify calling it virus. The solution was to go to settings and allow spotify through. However, the free-version has literally no settings. Is there anyway around this? Or should I uninstall bit-defender. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Spotify was a problem with Bitdefender but it was made a general exception last Decenber, so there is some other problem that is causing it not to load.
