How Much Does Bd Free Scan?

I installed BD Free over the weekend. When I bring up the petit black window from the tray icon, the Virus Shield small window shows where it is scanning. So far I have only seen it working in C:\...... I haven't seen it in D: or E:. This makes me wonder, how many drives will it eventually work through in its cycle? I have an external Seagate connected through a USB cable, used for backup. Will it start searching through it eventually? Also, I have 2 computers connected as a Windows 7 Homegroup network. Will it reach out and work on the other computer? If BD works well on this first one I have installed it on, I would like to install it, separately, on the other one, too.

The user can choose the depth of the desired scan everytime it is launched: Deep System Scan, Quick System Scan, Removables Drives Scan, Scan Memory or Scan for Rootkits. For every option the application shows an overview light explanation, an scan path window for selecting which drives to be scanned, as scheduler for programming the action and a log review of latest scans.

So, it will scan where you want it to from full system to removable drives although you may have to set it up in your scan schedule.

I do not see those options with the Free edition I have. Are you thinking of a paid version?

Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition provides no control for the schedule of scans, you may only turn Auto Scan on or off. Auto scan has a programmed schedule for both Quick and Deep Sweeps (I believe is the Quick is every two days and the Deep is every week).

I do not think auto scans will cover anything removable, but you can certainly start a scan on any drive. To scan a file, folder, or drive, right-click on the file/folder/drive and select Scan with Bitdefender. A Full System Scan may be started on demand from the tray icon menu, after a right-click on the icon. The scan progress can be seen on the border of the tile for the scan in the interface panel.
