I Can't Install Bitdefender After Avg Installation
Hello,
I have a compatibility problem between AVG Internet Security 2014 and bitdefender antivirus free edition. Indeed, BitDefender obliges me to uninstall AVG to be able to install it?
Let me explain: I have AVG Professional on my PC and I wanted to install bitdefender antivirus free edition to have two antivirus in my computer.
The problem is when I try to install BD, it told me that I have AVG and need to uninstall to use Bitdefender. And Even I unsinstall AVG with AVG Removal Tool:
http://supplysystems.com/2014/01/21/avg-re...avg-antivirus/), I can't install BitDefender anymore.
PS: I used CCleaner after the removal of AVG (https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner)
Please help!

Hi Nelly Pan
Could you re-submit the link you found the AVG Uninstall tool from please, as the one above comes with an error and other misc. things. Just want to make sure the correct tool was used.
Otherwise, you may need to do a folder search for any AVG leftovers, and use the BD Uninstall Tool. I would then only install the AV you want to use, as I don't believe the BD free versions is meant to run in real time with other AVs, thus it's warning of incompatible software.0 -
Hi again, Nelly, it seemed your link had a ) on the end of it, creating the error: http://supplysystems.com/2014/01/21/avg-re...-avg-antivirus/

Hi Columbo,
Thank you for your fast reply. Indeed I made a mistake with ')' character at the end of the URL. But It only provide me a tool to remove AVG in my pC.
I'll go through your link and let you know If it works or not.

Hi graciliano
Has the BD Free version Uninstall Tool that I linked to (post#2) not been updated? http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=40936
Otherwise, here is a quick link to all the BD uninstall tools, including the free version: http://www.bitdefender.com/site/Downloads/...sumer_paid.html0 -

It is nice to see Bitdefender has that well organized page. All links for the removal tool for Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition point to the same piece of code (maybe with different names). The signature is dated the 9th day of January of the year 2013 so any changes to the tool must had happened very early.0 -
Thanks for taking the time to check into it. I appreciate your posting back
