Since updating to Bitdefender Internet Security build 17.27.0.1146, my Windows 8.1 Live Tile apps have suddenly stopped working. Even the option to turn a live tile on/off is missing.
I found an old forum post from 2012 which suggested that I go into the firewall general rules and allow HTTP traffic for Windows Explorer. I did this, and Live Tiles are working again.
However, this is just a workaround. It really should be fixed in the new build/update.
