Bitdefender Free Account/login Issues

Hi, I am a recent convert to Bitdefender, using it bot personally and recommending it to clients. I have a client who wanted Bitdefender Free on her new Win8 PC, which was no problem. For unrelated reasons, she had an email outage at the time we registered her account, so she never followed the confirmation link as when her email came back she never recieved the message. Now, more than a month has passed, and because of this Bitdefender is inactive. We reset her password and resent the confirmation link, followed it and logged into the personal BD page after following the confirmation link.


No matter what though the BD app will not activate, it still states that the account needs confirmation. I am able to login to my BD acount and the app works, but not hers. I have tried reinstalling (before trying my account), to no avail. It appears to be a backend issue where the account is recently confirmed but the app does not see it as such, possibly because of the amount of time between account creation and confirmation. I would just have her create an account with a different email address, but she only has one. As a stop gap I have left her BD logged into my account just so she has virus protection (she is really concerned because her old XP box used MSE but she still got a gnarly FBI virus variant).


Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?

  • She cannot register another account using the same email address as one already exists. Also, she has no secondary email address, nor does she want one. If there were a way to delete the existing account and then re-register that may work, but I cannot find a way to do that.


    I was hoping to have this fixed, but neither here nor the official support request I sent have yielded any results. I can come up with work-arounds, but that is not the direction I prefer to go.
