Firewall Activity In Anti-virus Plus 2014
Hi
My security widget is showing 100% Firewall activity continuously i.e. the left pane of the widget (which shows a "?" by default) is completely blue.
This raises 2 issues:
1. Why is firewall activity showing at all for Anti-Virus plus?
2. If Anti-Virus plus does show some firewall activity periodically, why in this case is it showing 100% continuously i.e. firewall activity pane is fully blue and does not wax or wane?
Any insight appreciated.
Many thanks

It has been mentioned before but as there is no firewall and it does not monitor the Windows firewall that is the reason for the "?" in that section of the widget.

I understand why the "?" is there (i.e. there is no Firewall in AV Plus), but the pane is otherwise normally empty (i.e. no activity) - now the pane is fully blue all the time which indicates some activity.
This may be a bug in the widget, however just wanted to check in case this is a known issue.0 -
Yes it is known, or at least posted about. There is mention of "ghost traffic" from network stations in this thread.

Will take a look, thanks...0 -
Just out of curiosity, try disabling Scan HTTP traffic and see it it still shows blue/full blue. Settings/Antivirus/Custom/Traffic Scan/ uncheck the Scan HTTP traffic box.
Did you previously trail a version of Internet Security, or Total Security?0 -

Thanks for the suggestion, however it still shows blue after making that change. Also I didn't trial any other BD products prior to installing AV plus.0 -
ok, thanks for checking into that. Let's try re-enabling the scan HTTP traffic, turn your PC off and disconnect from the internet however you can, restart your PC and see if it goes blue/full blue. We're just trying to see if it was ghost traffic or a web traffic issue? http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=152067 see also, http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...=46323&st=0
If you had run a previous Firewall version of BD before your AV+ install and it somehow wasn't totally uninstalled, could have caused a glitch (it's rare, but it has happened before). Thanks for confirming this was a new install. Otherwise, we would need to consider if you had a previous AV installed before BD and confirming all remnants were totally uninstalled.0 -
@ corbomite1
It is most likely a visual glitch.
Please make sure you have the latest build 17.27.0.1146: right click on the Bitdefender icon located in system tray and from the menu select "Update Now". Reboot the PC if requested, then check if the issue still occurs.
Should the issue persist, try repairing Bitdefender:

@ Georgia, maybe I forgot the "cardinal rule" to try a repair first, before making it so complicated or injecting so many other thoughts or links first, then going from there if a repair doesn't work Repair is a handy feature and does work wonders at times0

Hi,
I'm new here . Thanks for this post as I did experience that when I tried out Bitdefender IS 2014 and then uninstalled it using the 2014 uninstaller and later on installed BD AV 2014. I noticed that there is a firewall activity. Will keep that in mind.
Is there any new uninstaller for 2014products? I am using the one from here,
http://www.bitdefender.com/site/Downloads/...sumer_paid.html
I downloaded the 2014 ver from this site but the IS and AV are the same..are they?
Also in connection with uinstall tool, I used it but there still was firewall activity. The procedure I used is here,

Does this thread still apply for BD uninstalling?0
