How To Restore Files From A Back Up

Hi,

I made a back up using Bit Defender Total security 2008. Now I would like to restore or transfer that on my new laptop. Please let me know how to do that

Hello jure,

First of all you need to install BitDefender Total Security 2008 also on your laptop if you didn't have done that already. Now attach your external hard disk to the usb port of your laptop or put in the dvd or cd-rom where you have stored your back-up. Now start BitDefender by right clicking on the red BitDefender icon near the system clock press on shown now press on back-up tab and select now the option start restore wizard. The first screen is just a welcome screen press next. Now you have to select the storage device an external hard disk restore from usb drive but you have to press on choose location. If your external hard disk isn't visible than you have to select the option restore data from my computer. Now select which back-up you want to restore press next if you want to save it on the default location you have to select the option restore the back up to its default location. A warning here for example if you had on another computer your documents stored in a folder documents under the documents and settings folder than on your laptop you must have created the same folder on the same location. Otherwise you have to select the option restore the back-up to a default location.
