Bitdefender Blocking Another Application

My dad recently purchased a new dell laptop and installed Bitdefender Anti-virus free edition. After doing so, another app HumminbirdPC.exe stopped working.

HumminbirdPC is a program by the HumminBird depth finder company, it's used for transferring data back and forth from PC to depth finder.

I have installed both products on my PC and confirmed that Bitdefender is causing the program to crash/stop working.

I tested this by going into safe mode, using msconfig to stop the Bitdefender service from starting, rebooting back into regular mode, Humminbirdpc.exe runs just fine.

I renabled the Bitdefender service and HumminbirdPC crashes. I also uninstalled Bitdefender and HumminbirdPC.exe ran just fine, reinstalled Bitdefender and HumminbirdPC.exe crashes.

Is there anyway to add a program to an allowed list? Or any other possible solutions?

Thanks, but I do not have the bd firewall installed. I'm using something else. I have verified that it is not the issue by uninstalling it and turning the windows firewall off as well. With all firewalls turned off the program still would not run until I disabled or removed bd Antivirus.

You can't download the humminbirdpc.exe application from humminbird (they require serial numbers), but I could pass you a copy if you want to install it and see for yourself (it's about 55MB).
