Any Way To Tell What It's Doing When It's Spinning?

Sometimes the center of the BD object (the round thingy) shows a spinner (replacing the checkbox). Sometimes that spinner goes on for a LONG time. Is there a way to see what it's doing when that happens?

The spinning means it's updating itself, New definitions, program updates etc, etc.
