Avg Uninstalling....worried!

I want to uninstall AVG and just have BD on my comp. But i have ALOT of viruses, spyware, KEYLOGGERS such as Smitfraud, and other malware in my virus vault, i am worried that if i uninstall it they will be let loose again, and if they do, will BD find them? especially Smitfraud.

I only bought BD about 2 hours ago so bare with me

Oh, and i read through the AVG installation guide and it says to include the deletion of the virus vault but surely that will let them loose.

Hello Romey,

All the infections that are kept in AVG virus fault can't cause any harm because they are encrypted or are being stored in password protected archives so they can't run except when you release them manually from the virus vault. Some infections need other tools beside an antivirus including BitDefender to be properly removed.

I just read your reply, what tools would i need? I think i may have some strange activity. But nothing being picked up by scans.

Hello Romey,

You need to download these tools:

Hijack This. This is a tool that generates a logfile of your system with all files that are different from a default windows installation without any installed software.Install it and choose for do a system scan and save a logfile.

combofix You need to save it on your desktop. Follow these instructions. Be sure that you don't click inside the screen.

Make a new topic in this forum section.Post also the reference to this topic. Please post both the Hijack This and combofix logfile in that section.
