Blocked Process Skeys.exe

BitDefender has blocked the process C:/windows/system32/skeys.exe for suspicious activity. Around the same time, the computer that has the blocked process has been unable to connect to the internet.

Is this a coincidence? Does that process have something to do with internet connectivity? Is there a way to tell if BitDefender has mistakenly blocked the process when it is not infected?

Any help would be appreciated.

I cannot find that file in my computer with Windows 8. I think it may be used in earlier versions of Windows. I read somewhere that some malware may use that name as a disguise. If you search the web for:

    virus file check online

you will find at least one website that will check a file for you with several antivirus/anti-malware systems at once. You should submit false positives to Bitdefender here. As I understand the command:

    sfc /scannow

should restore corrupt or missing system files. Good luck!
