Unhandled Exception Has Occured In Your Application

In free edition i get the next messages :

system is not protected.

trial period has expired.

wait for bitdefender page to load (but it never loads)

microsoft .NET Framework : unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. if you click Quit the application will close. Value does not fall within the expected range.

I select continue and after a while i get the same message from MyBitdefender.

I asked for a Free key and received but dont know what i can do with it.

I think that's your primary cause. You must have at least microsoft .NET Framework version 4 I believe.

Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition User's Guide states .NET Framework 3 is a minimum and recommended system requirement. From the User's Guide:

2.1.1. Minimum system requirements

● 1 GHz processor

● 512 MB of RAM

● 700 MB available free hard disk space

● Internet Explorer 7.0

● .NET Framework 3 (also available in the installer kit)

2.1.2. Recommended system requirements

● Intel CORE Duo (1.66 GHz) or equivalent processor

● 1 GB of RAM

● 1 GB available free hard disk space

● Internet Explorer 7.0 or later

● .NET Framework 3 (also available in the installer kit)

and can i upgrade to Net Framework 4 ?

I understand .Net Framework 3.5 includes 3.0, that should not be a problem. Going back to your initial post: registering Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition should be self explanatory through email. After registering, you log your antivirus into your MyBitdefender account using your email and whichever password you chose to be protected beyond the trial period. Did you have any problems during the trial period?

After the trial period you must login in order to be protected by Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition. Normally you should see a panel like the following where the LOGS would appear:

I am surprised you find a problem when your trial period expires. I presume there is no conflicting software because you had no problems before.* Please make sure of that.

When I had a problem I tried these: (1) I repaired the program (you do that from Programs and Features inside Windows' Control Panel). (2) I uninstalled through Windows' Control Panel and then using their tool found here within the Important Topics in this forum, then I re-installed Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition. The trial period was reset by this second procedure.

Using command sfc /scannow at the command prompt would check that Windows' system files are OK. This should ensure that your .NET Framework is fine, or repair it otherwise.

I am sorry if none of this works. I am out of ideas.
