Incompatible Solutions Found
I cannot get Bitdefender to install under Windows 8.1 x64 with the latest updates.
The installer reports that incompatible solutions found. Clicking on Install and remove
existing solution generates a Windows installer error. The error relates to no active
programs found.
Clicking on Proceed with in stall (not recommended ) required a restart. It installed
and the scan completed, but there was no tray icon. I launched the executable
in the installation directory and finally saw the tray icon.
Clicking on the icon showed that all services were off.
I used the Bitdefender uninstall tool and it removed the application.
I remoed all security applications (MalwareBytes, Firewall, etc.) and tried to re-install
Bitdefender. The Incompatible Solutions found window keeps appearing, but it does not show
what is incompatible. ....
Unlike previous versions, I cannot locate the XML file which shows what the installer is checking
for compatibility.
After several hours, I gave up and installed Avast.
