Firewall -> Adapters -> Network Type Not Saving Changes!

Hello, Bitdefender? Is anyone home? I'm not the first person to post about various firewall / adapter settings not saving or reverting to default settings after a system reboot.... so I assume it's a legit matter.

In my case, every time I want to scan from my wireless network printer, I have to go in to BDIS -> Protection -> Firewall -> Adapters -> and change the network type from Public to Home/Office, Trusted or OFF. May not be a big deal for most folks, but some days I do a lot of scanning (receipts, expense reports, etc) so this becomes a tedious task.

Is there a fix in the works for this? I've checked all other semi-related threads and see zero replies from BD on the matter. If I'm missing something, please enlighten me. :wacko:

Adding the IP as a network exception fixed it. Thanks. Now just wondering why the "network type" changes from home/office to public after every reboot.

I too can add an exception for the printer ip address but it reverts after reboot. Can I not add an exception for either the printer (irrespective of the ip) or the app, but not sure what the app is!

I'm not really sure if this will fix it but can you try to add the adapter as "trusted" and see if that fixes it?

I have a similar problem.

When I first installed Bitdefender, I went to the FireWall\Adapters and could see me network adapter. (NIC Card). That's fine.

I rebooted my computer and came back to the FireWall/Adapters screen and the Network Adapter was gone.

I've reported this initially to Bitdefender back on September 8, 2014. Got multiple responses, however, nothing is working.

I have 4 other computers that had access to the Printer and Harddrive on this computer. It is used as a File Server and Print Server.

Because I cannot set the Network Adapter, these other computers CANNOT access the File / Print Server.

I have given Bitdefender till the end of the month before I block payment on my credit card and dump this thing off my computers.

I connect via Cisco VPN to my university to access network drives. Every time i do this i have to go into Firewall -> Adapters and change the Network type from home/office to trusted so i can access the network drive. If i don't do this, Windows Explorer can't find the network drive. It is really annoying because sometimes, I have to do this several times a day. Is there any way i can save this setting? In Internet Security 2014 this worked perfectly.

For me, adding the network exceptions worked (see the post above where the bitdefender rep replied to me).

I can also tell you that I uninstalled bitdefender completely and reinstalled it, and the issues I had with it not "remembering" my network settings was fixed.

Not having any issues any more. It may be worth the try if you have a few minutes.

If i add a network exception i can only enter an IP adress, but i only have a network name (\\fsemu28.edu.ds...) of the network drive.

I will try to reinstall bitdefender and see if it helps.
