Hash Strings For Bis 2015

Options

Does any one know where I might find the HASH strings for Off Line installers ...

1. BIS 2015 32bit

2. BIS 2015 64bit

I would prefer to know that my downloads are "complete/in-tact" before uninstalling BIS-2013 (to install BIS-2015)

Thank you :)

    Hello,

They are available in the pinned topic right here:

The OP asked for the HASH values, not the location of the offline installers.

  • @ mallard :)

Thankfully you understood my request. (Now I don't feel alone! )

It was very PLAIN and simple, even HASH in upper case did not compute.

I have wasted 2 days trying to deal with Bitdefender

It would be easier to change AV providers than to go through the circus I have been through over the past 2 days.

    1. trying to report an email scam selling bogus Bitdefender products, my thread Where To Report Bitdefender Marketing Hoax ?

      The silence is deafening.

I trawled through every page that would popup, including the microscopic links at the bottom of web-pages (if they are there)

This forum is so complex and it is purely designed to resolve problems about AV ... fair enough.

But I thought Bitdefender corp would want to know about online scammers. Apparently not.

I have attempted to contact BD-headquarters and BD-Australia by email and phone to report the scam

But there is no "scammers" category in FAQs nor in drop-down robotic lists.

Emails can take a week to get a response -- if I am lucky!

    2. now trying to get something as basic as a HASH for downloads.

Four hours yesterday. Three search engines. Bitdefender forum and Bitdefender-Australia ... absolutley nothing.

A never ending loop of infinity. User questions that fall through the gaps, because the drop down list does not have an item "Others" and FAQs that don't even come close to address the problem.

I run a small consulting business of 6 employees, if I treated my clients the way Bitdefender operate I would go broke.

I understand the problems of trolls and lazy users who will not even try to resolve problems.

But in OZ we have an expression that colorfully describes the use of "ones" large, size 12 heavy shoe placed at speed into the part of the anatomy that a person sits on.

Bitdefender has to pick up its game to realise its customers who put money in the Bitdefender bank account. Not FAQs.

The Bitdefender product is good. I have no complaints about the product.

When renewal time rolls around I consider "AV Comparatives" PLUS what has my relationship with Bitdefender been like. ?

Bitdefender should take a page out of PayPal's customer service.

Last week I received a hoax email asking me to log into my Paypal account.

Within 30 minutes I received a non robotic email from genuine Paypal and since then 4 followup emails from human beings

But spare me ... all I want is HASH STRINGS !

In fact two hash strings for 32-bit and 64-bit BIS-2015 Offline installer downloads.

    - downloads can be corrupted, BD is not impervious to accidents.

I very much appreciate your return to this thread.

At a guess your have a lot of territory to cover here.

Thank you for the HASH strings .. I am surprised that Bitdefender do not include such basic information with all downloads.

    - like Digital River do for Windows ISO files.

    - when I phoned BDAustralia they could not locate any HASH strings

    PROGRESS SO FAR.

    5-Sept-2014

    - BIS updates extremely slow (even out of peak times, like 4:30AM)

    - phoned BDAustralia for phone support (9am), left my name and phone number on their robot

    - today 18-Sept-2014 - no response of any kind. Nothing !

    - updates (188,000 KB) stalled at 759KB will take 49 hours to down load at 1.6KB/s .. update had been running for 2 hours

    - other downloads before and after BIS updates are at 1.2MB/s ... best on offer for ADSL2 in Australia

    - the UI is to put it plainly ... ugly ... and another dose of windows 8.0 catastrophe

    - I did not have time to learn the new structure ... nor could I find a progress bar when downloading.

Downgraded to BIS-2014 (same day as 2015)

    - clean installed BIS-2014

    - phoned sales (4pm, same day) ... they will escalate it with tech help

    - 4 days later ... today .. still no response

It is 9 days since contacting Bitdefender and still not a murmur from them

    - no contact of any kind

    - previous emails to BD have taken 4-5 days to get a reply

Since updating this morning, my BIS-2013 settings have gone pear shaped

    - when I installed BIS-2013 several days ago I added ...

    Excluded files and folders

    • C:\~~\metapad36 ... (folder)

After todays update it now appears as ...

    Excluded files and folders

    • C:\~~\metapad.exe

    - what has happened to the folder ?

List of processes excluded from scanning

    • C:\~~\metapad.exe

Metapad is a portable text reader.

What is the difference between File exclusions and Process Exclusions ?

    - I don't know what is meant by "Processes" ... does that mean all EXE file ?

    - and files are passive data files (eg, txt, doc, docx, xls, xlsm, pdf etc ?

I also have one proprietary program (ClipX ... clipboard extender) that I control with a VBS file on startup, to modify settings (an INI file) for the day (each boot)

How/where should I add Clipx.exe and my VBS (startup) file ?

    - files and folder -or- processes ?

    Thank you :)

I think process exclusions are for those which are running/ will be run by user so as the AVC (active virus control) won't block it for any suspected reasons(like changing dll values/registry even on users request) ....on the other hand Files&Folder exclusions are to advice BD not to scan them (exclude from on-demand quick or system scan/scheduled scans and/or from On-access scanning so it wnt block them from executing)

Also BD On-Demand Scanning will scan the running processes....So u gotta exclude them in process exclusions tab
