I have installed Bitdefender Free Edition.
On installation, the software warned me that I need to register it, telling me:
PRODUCT REGISTRATION. By accepting this Agreement, You agree to register Your Software, using "My account", as a condition of Your use of the Software (receiving updates) and Your right to Maintenance. ...
Fair enough, however, I can't find any way to do this. I cannot find anything like "My account" or "Register" or "Create Account" on either the site or the software itself. The closest I can get on the software is the "Login" under "My Bitdefender", but this immediately pops up a dialogue box that tells me:
ERROR
The connection to the server has failed. The product could not be activated. Check the connection and try again.
There is a also a "Login to My Bitdefender" (https://my.bitdefender.com/login) option on the website, but clicking this gives me a blank screen, and this happens under both Firefox and IE.
In neither case do I even get a login prompt, let alone an option to create an account.
In both cases, wireshark shows communication happening to and from what I presume is a bitdefender server at 54.251.245.142, so it's not that the Internet is down at my end, as the error message above would imply.
What obvious thing am I missing?
