[submitted to PM] Bitdefender Installed In German

I bought today a license for 3 computers :

- installed in on mine (Windows 8 English, with a Swiss locale) : it chose English which is fine, but I couldn't chose the language)

- installed it on my girlfriend (Windows 7 French, Swiss locale)

For some reason, on her computer all I could install was the German version. I couldn't find anywhere to change the language during setup.

Can you provide me with the steps to force install in English or in French ?

Between that and the fact I had to uninstall Asus AI suite (which never caused any problem with Kaspersky), I'm somehow starting to regret my purchase...

I'm not sure about the benefits of not packaging all languages in one installer and provide users with the option to chose which language they want to use. I live in a country with 4 official languages, how on earth can you "detect" which language I want to use ?

Hi, Jubijub, and welcome

As you have correctly surmised, there are no on-board options to change the language once BD has been installed. It has been requested before, but so far the only solution is to download the installer for that language. Until they come up with a 2015 Pinned Topic of downloads for other languages, you may have to wait a bit.

Have you tried installing using the full offline English download file from here?: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=54672

If not, download the file, then uninstall your current version, restart your PC and look for any leftover remnants of BD in the usual places. Run CCleaner in Registry mode, and delete any leftover BD keys, restart your PC. Run the downloaded BD file, and when it asks you to check for and download the latest files, deny it, and let the installer continue, and see if it installs the English version. If it installs correctly, you can then run a manual update.

The AI Suite was a issue for many others, and had to do the same thing as you, uninstall AI Suite, then install BD, and reinstall AI: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/bitdefe...tware-1209.html

The request to have a unified Bitdefender kit and the same build version for all languages was submitted to the product manager in the past. Today the request was reiterated.

We already use this technology in Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition & Endpoint Security for business products. Should this be implemented, the modification will be available starting with Bitdefender 2016 and later.

To install Bitdefender 2015 in French go here:

Locate the product you want to install then click >> En savoir plus next to it. From there, you will have the option to download your chosen kit. Click Télécharger.
