    Hello Analista:

Anti-malware products, such as Malwarebytes, are not "another anti-virus." They specialize in malware removal (or prevention if you buy the Premium version and thus have real-time protection). While Bitdefender does offer some protection against malware, its focus is viruses, worms, Trojans, etc. Malwarebytes recommends running a robust anti-virus application, such as Bitdefender, to protect against those threats because it does NOT guard against them.

Based on credible computer security information, I personally use 2015 Bitdefender Total Security, combined with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium, and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Premium. They play together nicely, if the proper exclusions are made in the products, and they provide a high level of protection against cyberthreats. You only have to go over the Malwarebytes Forums to see how many malware threats were not detected by antivirus products of all makes and the tremendous frustration caused to innocent computer users.

Of course, no amount of protection applications can guard against all infections. One has to practice safe computing and not click on unknown links and be wary of phishing and other attempts by virus and malware creators to compromise your computer security. There is also the problem of "zero hour/day" infections, which is why reputable products, such as Bitdefender and Malwarebytes, issue so many updates daily, trying to keep up with the flood of new and varied viruses and malware.

Removing some malware can be quite difficult, and with the ransomware out there, you can lose all of your data to encryption. Make sure that you have recent full system image backups and a bootable DVD or USB flash drive in case viruses or malware render your computer unbootable or block the loading of your anti-virus or anti-malware applications.

Malwarebytes, and many other anti-malware products, have a free version, which will scan your computer for malware and remove it. Other great products, free, include adwcleaner and junk removal tool.

Hope this helps. Have a great day.

    Regards,

    -Phil

P.S. I am not, in any way, affiliated with Malwarebytes, and it should be noted that there are other excellent anti-malware products out there - I just have not personally used them.

  • Omniboxes.com is treated as a malicious browser hijacker that can mess up settings of your web browsers. It often comes bundled with other software. For example, it gets into the targeted computer together with Winzip. See as below:

To remove this browser hijacker, users can try the removal guide given here: http://guides.uufix.com/easy-steps-to-remo...-removal-guide/

I suggest using AdvCleaner to remove Omnboxes. AdwCleaner is free. Latest version is 5.0.0.7 and can be dlownloaded at Bleeping Computer

Even though all removals using AdwCleaner are optional I still suggest reading their guide on how to use it.

Specific Instructions on how to remove Omniboxes using AdwCleaner

Remove Omniboxes browser hijacker with AdwCleaner

  • Hello,

Browser hijacker is very risky. It can corrupt all the common web browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome which means it can modify your browser home page and default search engine too. It gets bundled with the freeware and shareware programs. When it gets installed into the PC it not only redirects the user to the third-party websites, but also exposes the user to treacherous content. It is very malicious capable of using cookies to collect users online traces or personal information for unethical marketing.

So it is recommended that removal tool should be advanced. You should try the SpyHunter anti malware tool. It is highly advanced and designed to remove different types of malwares, adware, browser hijacker and many more. It has the integrated compact operating system. It comes with the advanced algorithm that deeply scans the system and the daily malware definition updates ensure complete protection from the latest malware threats. It is easy to use.

  • To remove omniboxes.com you may apply to manual or automatic solutions. To get rid of the malware by yourself find suspicious programs and browser extensions that have appeared just before the omniboxes virus and uninstall them. You should know that manual fix requires certain computer knowledge and does not guarantee the result. To clear the browser of the hijacker use free avast Browser Cleanup tool. It can be used for removing unwanted extensions and restarting browser settings. For removal of the malware install Antimalware Malwarebytes, which has omniboxes.com in the database.
