Capredeam.p **** Dialer

I have been using Bitdefender for almost a year and there been only 2 times when I have been alerted that a virus was trying to run on my PC. I have the firewall set at the highest level as well as the antivirus. My computer has been really slow lately so I installed Advanced System Optimizer and ran the virus scan and it found a **** dialer called Capredeam.p and it was deleted. Before I used Bitdefender I used the Earthlink total protection control program that has a firewall and antivirus. Well, that program used to find a **** dialer called dyfuca that was removed every night when the scan ran. My question is why isn't bitdefender catching these **** dialers? Is there an additional program that I have to run?

Any suggestions will be appreaciated.

Thanks

  • Please post an exact path where malware files are located, and, in addition, please upload some samples, to a new post, in an archive, protected with the password infected.

  • Per Advanced System Optimizer the dialer was located c:\windows\ie4 error log.txt

Before I clicked on the option to clean up I looked for that folder in windows explorer and it wasn't there. I have the option to view hidden files set to yes.

Also I followed the directions for uploading samples and the file is nowhere to be found. I even did a search on drive c. I am launching ASO right now to try and figure out what happens to the files once I hit the clean button.

    Thanks

  • Next time when you find some infected files, please upload them here first, for analyses.
