Hi folks! I downloaded the trial for the BitDefender Internet Security 2008 and everything works just fine eccept the firewall won't save the Programs i Add to the Traffic settings such as Internet Explorer, Yahoo Browser and some Programs i don't want to connect to the internet with.. Here is the thing, My Internet Provider is Yahoo AT&T Fast Internet Connection and everytime i Boot my System (WinXP), The firewalls Pomps asking if i want to allow Those Programs which i just Mentioned And save everytime i hit allow... I Called Tech Support and they told me that i Need a Static IP?? So i Called AT&T and asked them how i Can make my Connection Static because BiTDefender Firewall Recognizes My Network as a new network everytime my IP is Changed by AT&T(Which Happens everytime i boot my Computer)... AT&T told me i Need to buy a Router To make my IP a Static IP. So my question is; Do i have to allow/deny my programs everyday of my life if i don't buy the router? or how does the firewall work for people that have Dial Up Connection??

I'm already a BitDefender Antivirus 2008 Customer and i really want to get the Total Security suite but i'm thinking twice because of the firewall settings, i just wanna B able to save my programs in the firewall settings but it keeps asking me everytime i boot, for some reason is not saving and the only solution BitDefender Support over the phone told me is to get a Static IP Adress so i won't be Pomptd again

  • Hello WallyH,

Try this open BitDefender by right clicking on the red BitDefender icon near the system clock press on open advanced settings,go to the firewall section, click on the advanced tab and check apply the same (generic) profile on all new networks. Go also to the status tab and see if the slider is set on allow recommended.

    Best regards
