Random Ie Home Page Reset To (about:blank)

Options

  • W8.1 64-bit (Clean install using Windows Media Creation Tool)
  • Bitdefender Internet Security 2016 20.0.19.1099
  • Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.18053 - Update version 11.0.24

Install Bitdefender Internet Security 2016

After approximately 2 days...

Internet Explorer 11 home page will be randomly deleted (about:blank).*

If you have multiple home pages set, then it will always be the very first (top of list) URL in the IE Home Page list that will be deleted.

This issue is reproducible on (2) Toshiba laptops running W8.1.

I have used the Bitdefender Home Page Reset Tool, but sooner or later the IE home page will be deleted again.

    It is bug...

There is no infection\disinfection. Issue occurs randomly on two separate clean, W8.1 systems.

If I reset home page manually or using Bitdefender reset tool, it still happens again.

It was fully explained in original post.

NOTE: It also occurs using Bitdefender 2016, 2015, Free.
