Rescue Cd - Bdscan Trouble
Hi there
Troubles with a highly suspect computer. XP fresh install with reformating hard drive. Trying to run an analyzis from the Rescue CD.
Knoppix boot_s well, but the window with the "START3 button doesn't show. As I havn't much ram, I boot in textmode and run bdscan this way :
first, updating :
# bdscan --update
(this run fine)
then, the analyzis :
# bdscan /
it run for a while, and then hangs with :
...
/dev/sndstat ok
/dev/core ok
end_request: I/O error, dev fd0, sector 0
pcd: pcd version 1.07, major 46, nice 0
pcd0: Autoprobe failed
pcd: No CD-ROM drive found
modprobe: FATAL: Error inserting pcd (/lib/modules/2.6.19/kernel/drivers/block/paride/pcd.ko): Operation not permitted
the last 4 lignes are repeated 4 times and then nothing for tens of minutes... I have to Ctrl+C to abort the process.
Anybody out there knows what goes wrong or can give me hints with bdscan on command line ?
Thanks in advance.
